Dear Joan,
How many Miss Piggy figure ornaments did Hallmark make? I'm familiar with The Divine Miss Piggy, but heard there was one with a pink dress.
Thanks,
Diane

Dear Diane,

If you're a Miss Piggy fan, you're going to love what I have to tell you! To date, there have been eight different Keepsake Ornaments featuring that fabulous female pig. Just so you can easily add them to your "wish list," I've listed them here with their descriptions:

1980 - MUPPETS(tm) - white satin ball with the Muppets, including Ms. Piggy
1981 - THE DIVINE MISS PIGGY(tm) - Miss Piggy as an angel, with brass halo and wings (reissued 1982)
1981 - MUPPETS(tm) - white satin ball, Miss Piggy lounging in front of fireplace
1982 - MISS PIGGY(tm) and KERMIT(tm) - white satin ball, Miss Piggy lounges among Christmas gifts
1982 - MUPPETS(tm) Party - white satin ball, including Miss Piggy
1983 - MISS PIGGY(tm) - attired in a lavender skating costume and silver skates
1983 - The MUPPETS(tm) - light blue satin ball, Kermit and Miss Piggy skywriting in a biplane
1984 - The MUPPETS(tm) - chrome glass ball, one side has Miss Piggy framed in a heart-shaped wreath with the words "Merry Kissmas!"

However, I believe the Miss Piggy in a pink dress that you are looking for is a Merry Miniature®, issued in 1982.

Love,
Joan

Dear Joan,
Will we see Artists On Tour events in 1999? How does Hallmark determine where the events will be held? Are they fun to attend?

Thanks,
Ricky

Dear Ricky,

Our friends at Hallmark are keeping quite mum about any plans they may have for another Artists on Tour event, aren't they? After all, here it is mid-September, and we're still in the dark!

Artists on Tour has historically been a fantastic way to meet fellow collectors, buy some great event-exclusive pieces, and best of all... have some of your favorite Keepsakes signed by the artists who created them!

Of course we can't presume to know how Hallmark decides which cities will be the lucky hosts for AOT, but I think a key factor in that decision would almost have to be attendance at past AOTs. So if your city's AOT was a sell-out last time, perhaps it has a good chance of hosting another one!

We'll all be crossing our fingers and waiting for the mailman to bring us some good news about AOT '99 soon!

Love,
Joan
