I want my local collectors club featured "In the Spotlight"

Bright Christmas Dreamers Ornament Collectors
club, based in Joplin, Missouri, has to be one of the more active
KOCC-sanctioned local clubs. Many of you may have seen the
members on stage at the 25th Anniversary Celebration in Kansas
City. If you remember a group of Crayolas with Kiddie cars,
then you're remembering Bright Christmas Dreamers. (The
performing members were even lucky enough to have Don Palmiter
sign their Kiddie Car props.)
Sponsored by Lynn's Hallmark and Connor's Hallmark,
Bright Christmas Dreamers is very active in their community.
Their fundraising efforts have helped support Family YMCA, Elf
Program, and The Ronald McDonald House. Their most
interesting fundraisers were raffles for absolutely beautiful
quilted ornament lap quilts. You may have seen one of these
wonderful works of art in Kansas City at the Celebration.
The quilt squares were embroidered by members of the club.
Each square portrayed a much-loved Hallmark ornament.
They've done two such raffles; the last one was raffled off
during room-hopping at the 25th Anniversary Celebration.
Their first pin was based upon their namesake, Bright Christmas Dreams. Although it is no longer available from the club, it is still sought after by many local club pin collectors. Their second pin, released in 1997, is based on Bright Journey (1989, #1 Crayola Series). This pin is still available from the club for $7.00, ppd. The current pin is based on Bright Moving Colors (1990, #2 Crayola Series). The price is $7.00, ppd. You can order these pins by contacting Helen, the current president of Bright Christmas Dreamers.

The club makes lots of trips together traveling to Branson for the holidays, as well as traveling to secondary market shows. As mentioned above, many of the club's 50 members made the trip to Kansas City in August to participate in the 25th Anniversary Celebration. In 1997, the club won First Place at Reindeer Games at the Kansas City Artists on Tour Event. You can watch for Bright Christmas Dreamers to be featured in this month's issue of the Courier!
Bright Christmas Dreamers was formed in 1993, and we would like everyone to join us in wishing them a Happy 5th Birthday! Congratulations on five wonderful years! If you'd like to learn more about Bright Christmas Dreamers, you can contact Helen, President of Bright Christmas Dreamers.
